Rocksalt bath and
a string of expletives no curses no southern cussin'
wherein my good tongue fell apart like a scroll in the stomach,
maybe the bag in a whale or a man or a cat
prowled too close to a dog's house,
or dry as what is that lizard's name lazarus, wasn't he
so desertlike after the collagen receded and I bet he
faced himself in the mirror
without the soft light,
saw himself in the mirror for the first time and I bet he
wept like me, they didn't have drugs in galilee
