A few legs more than mine

     Silksewers dot the street long
sewing a dress for the prince
and the prince and the prince,
all of them nakeder than the South
in summery estrus and crawldaddies
crawl and hibernate behind the needles
   looking for their mothers
Polyesterers stutter and collect
nickels and crawldaddies crawl behind
the men stumbling from Europe
to their mothers, to their princes
together glued in the estrus of the searching gloom
