Socrates made prey

Is it surprising that universities,
whitewashed Babels them, so clearly
betray their origins? How faintest whiffs

of mad theologies filter out,
and supple high-framed infants in.
What pin promotes the dance of angels?

Socrates, like me, boozed in delirium.
He read too much of ruin and tangle
when he was strange and twenty one.

  1. I can’t even find the words to describe how this impacted me. It was short, temperamental, a furry and its defenatly something I will recite in my head often.

  2. Much obliged.
