Artaud in old age

The brain afloat—
senses squandered—
pelvis withered—
penis shriveled—
memories agog—
the months in waste—
a year or two
poured in haste—
to resurrect pretty
boys is to suffer—
relations and headaches
do stoop from heights—
sillinesses build
upon sillinesses—
the angels too
abuse themselves—
rehearse death says
a Roman fraudulent
as all Rome ever was—
it is misery itself
to greet old age
as early decades buzz away—
