Every dollar better off

Man is rational: an intuition
married to a calculus—
some folks slanted say
a skill for rationalization
results in death for us—
think of a moralist crackhead
and a wealthy priest defamed—
how much use in defense
and how little in pretense—

says a hermit gone public:
I wasted all my youth!
He wears leather for a face
and for a tunic, plastic:
a cool man for the kids
horny as a lunatic:
he dies in two years
more valued than a suit:

for art went democratic
and sense has devalued—
